This week I wanted to focus on African being taken from their country- but more importantly, that the second generation basically had no real home. I never really though about the fact that when the people were born here they were not knowledgeable about their home land, and were no treated like people here. In "Mary Don't You Weep", I love the mixture of the Old and New Testament, showing the slaves were just creating these songs to reach out to anyone that would help.
The image I drew is the moment of the unlimited break down. I leave I up to the view if its because they heard the song go because they need to hear the song. I focused more on the gospel versions of this song. They just hit me in a place where I was emotionally charged enough to draw.
